Our latest recruit Leanne joins us as a Senior SEO Analyst, having worked on both the SEO and paid side of things. So we sat down with her to get to know more about her career and interests.
After my A-Levels, I decided university wasn’t for me. So, I started looking for an apprenticeship, but I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to do. After looking for a while, I found a digital marketing apprenticeship, to which I applied and was successful.
After a year of working within all areas of digital marketing during my apprenticeship, I decided that SEO/PPC we’re the two areas I enjoyed the most, which is where my true passion for search began.
The thing I enjoy most is the challenge. No client is the same and no strategy will work the same. You have to learn new things constantly, meaning no day is the same and you never have nothing to do.
The challenge being a priority keyword for a client being super stubborn and not ranking, even with work put into it. But this was overcome by trying new strategies and using new tools, which boosted their number of conversions to over 200% year-over-year and improved their traffic over 240% year-over-year.
I enjoyed it because of the challenge, having to try out new things and really pushing myself outside of my ordinary tasks and strategy.
The biggest achievement for me was working on a client which had a period of negative results, I turned this around to overachieve on their KPI for the following months.
Having followed Honchō on LinkedIn for a while, a job presented itself and I thought it could be a great opportunity to work for a fun company with a great ethos. Having seen some of the clients Honchō have had, I thought to myself, I would love to work on some accounts like this and add them to my personal portfolio. I love new challenges and Honchoō seemed like the perfect company to give me this.
Just throw yourself into it, do your research and keep up to date with the latest trends. Make sure you always keep challenging yourself and look for new ways to achieve client success.
My ideal weekend looks like a lovely lie-in, followed by a long walk in the park with my puppy, come home and go and watch the Watford game with a pint (or two), come home in the evening and order a takeaway with a comedy/horror film.
I walk my puppy, play darts for a local ladies’ darts team, follow Watford FC (I am a season ticket holder and a massive football fan), love going to festivals and playing in quizzes down the local pub.
My biggest interest would be football and a story to go alongside that was the best match I have ever been to, the FA Cup Semi Final against Wolves at Wembley. Watford came back from being 2-0 down to win 3-2, the scenes were amazing and just a great memory for me.
My hobby would be Darts, my biggest achievement was getting to the semi-final of a cup and to get there I knocked out 2 of the best players in the league.
Welcome to the team, Leanne!
