Google AdWords gets a re-design!

Everyday, more and more people are engaging and interacting via multiple devices, with a noticeable shift towards mobile devices being used as their first port of call. Stats actually prove that mobile usage over the last couple of years has increased five fold, compared to desktop which has remained pretty flat. Let’s be honest, that’s hardly surprising when you consider the screen sizes available on some mobiles these days! With this in mind, Google decided to take action. Not too long ago it introduced the Google AdWords app – which we are all very happy with here as it has definitely made life much easier particularly when checking in on accounts in out of office hours! And now, just yesterday they announced that they’ve decided to change the look of the AdWords interface on Desktop too! The idea is that they would like to make the interface replicate the mobile experience that everyone is after at the moment so that it becomes a simple and easy source of your data. Early pictures of this new interface portray a clean visual dashboard feel, which I personally really like. Much more colourful and easier on the eye with graphs and bar charts galore that will really help you to digest your data – see image below.

AdWords Gets A Mobile Re-Design

Now for those who have a phobia of change – fear not! Your campaigns and keywords will continue to run as normal, but just with a new look and feel –think of it more as a 2.0.6.7 version if you like ☺ When will the upgrade take place you ask? It’s likely to take effect from the end of April 2016, with a select few receiving exclusive invitations to trial the new interface sooner than others. As mentioned already, no need to worry about change – there are also plans in the new design for you to be able to revert back to the current interface if you don’t like the new version. Either way, we shall await the change and I’m sure many of you, just like myself, will have an opinion on it all – hopefully all very positive! Feel free to share your feedback below so that we can share successes and tips moving forward! As always, any further questions or for a chat about anything PPC, give me a shout! Take care, Dominic
