So I had found the
Visible Measures website, where each week the Top Viral Ad Campaigns of the Week are to be found and as promised I am looking to update you with some of our favourites. First though, a few thoughts on the Visible Measures website and the online video industry. Now I know the Visible Measures site is accurate, but it also highlighted to me the growing popularity and furthermore, influence of user generated content (UGC) from the millions of hits some of these viral campaigns have been seeing. There are some great campaigns out there that have solely been collaborated from UGC (usually referred to as crowd sourcing, again rising in popularity), not only reducing outlay for the brands/businesses using their customers work, but also gives the customer a sense of being part of the brand they are supporting. From what I have observed on the internet over the past few months, I can see that this is unlikely to just be a fad, as with all sources of news, music and more, it is fast becoming ‘your world’ more so than ever. The digital solutions available online are helping artists get their music to the people, helping ‘wanna-be’ authors the chance to publish their work and get paid for it and many budding directors can now get their video’s seen on multiple platforms. I think this is brilliant! In the meantime, take a look below at some of my favourite video’s for this week and don’t worry, I will be revisiting the site regularly to update you with some more. P.S: If you think I’m missing out on any amazing viral video’s, please add your thoughts in the comments section. I’d love to have enough to put together a top 10 list as voted for by everyone out there, so let me know what your favourite is and I’ll put it together! Thanks
Following on from the popular craze of ‘flash mobbing’, this Samsung Campaign has had nearly 3 million views in a week. The little girl must be great at dancing!
WARNING: This video does contain strong language – however, is very funny and most of all, very innovative. Take a watch, you’ll see what I mean.
It gets no better here I’m afraid, I have a very childish sense of humour so this made me laugh out loud! Seems ad campaigns are getting away with more and more by using YouTube.
