The business problem

The death of the high street has been a shopping conundrum for several years. Digital has altered everything about the consumer experience, and Britain’s high streets are feeling this first hand. It’s not all doom and gloom though. Unlike food stores and clothing shops, beauty salons and hairdressers have the strong advantage that they require the customer to physically attend for the experience.

But with changing consumer shopping trends, the passing impulsive footfall has declined. So how then can a Hemel Hempstead based beauty salon attract new customers utilising online? La Belle came to Honchō with this question, seeking digital marketing support.

How we solved it

Online exposure is everything. Having a Google My Business profile is essential for any local business that relies on customers finding them through search.

We first took a look at the Hertfordshire beauty sector, and segmented the keywords that triggered a local map and normal web results. We were able to then optimise La Belle’s Google My Business profile for queries that triggered local map results and its website for local search. This boosted La Belle’s local visibility and ensured the salon was seen by potential customers and presented within search.

This can often be the winning tactic for a local business struggling with customers. It’s all about being seen AND heard.
